To be a musically contributing drummer,
there are only 3 things you must know:
WHEN TO HIT 'EM...
WHERE TO HIT 'EM...
HOW HARD TO HIT 'EM...
Once you understand those 3 elements you must then, initially,
consciously focus on each of the 3 simultaneously while
experiencing the most difficult part of being a drummer which is

DEVELOPING TASTE and MUSICALITY

My name is John Alfieris, Fairfield, CA   I have been a
perfoming and recording drummer for over 40 years.
I prefer to instruct students at their home, on their set so I can
evaluate the placement of each piece of the drumset in relationship
to their  playing style as well as pass on drum tuning tips.

Along with teaching basic "grooves" & "feels" I also  teach
a unique independence exercise that will aid in splitting a
drummer's attention into quadrants.  Over the years I have had a
ton of positve feedback on the results this exercise produces.

For more info on myself and my style of playing, I invite you to
access the Audio-Links (left menu) to find out more.

I  now coach on a part-time basis as other, income producing,
entrepreneurial activities have made this possible.
Therefore, I choose to make myself available only to the right students.
